Volvo might offer a new 2-liter T6 engine, but as of today, we can be sure the six-cylinder will live on. Why today? Because the Swedish automaker teamed up with tuner and race car maker Polestar to create two awesome new sports vehicles.
We're talking about a production version of the V60 and S60 Polestar hot mid-size model, real production models, not those rarities they made for Australia.

Both Polestar vehicles feature an enhanced version of the 2014 V60 and S60 facelift body, a little bit like the R-design, but even more aggressive. A brilliant shade of sky blue, specific to the Polestar brand and lightweight 20-inch Polestar wheels give a very muscular and distinctive look.

As far as power is concerned, both cars come with the six-cylinder T6 engine which has been tuned to produce 350 PS at 5,700 rpm and 500 Nm of torque at 2,800 rpm. We think of it as Volvo's answer to the Audi S4 and S4 Avant.

The power is delivered through all four wheels via a Haldex four-wheel drive system and a six-speed auto with paddle shifts, hopefully, one of their new boxes. Chassis upgrades also include 80% stiffer springs, Ohlins shocks and a better braking system with 371mm discs from Brembo up front.

Performance? We'll have to make due with incomplete figures until next year, but for now, know that that the V60 Polestar goes 0 to 100 km/h in 4.9 seconds and is limited to 250 km/h (155 mph).

He also loves local car culture from all over the world, so don't be surprised to see him getting excited about weird Japanese imports, low-rider VWs out of Germany, replicas from Russia or LS swaps down in Florida.
