Volvo Recalling 2011-2013 S80 Due to Transmission Software Issue

Volvo has recently announced that it is recalling a part of the 2011-2013 S80 models due to a gearbox software issue, with the campaign including a total of 1,469 vehicles.

The transmission software error could keep the automatic gearbox from downshifting from firth into fourth when this is necessary, with this increasing the risk of a crash. Volvo will upgrade the transmission control module in the affected vehicles and the operation will, of course, be performed free of charge.

If you own one of the vehicles that are affected by this, you will be notified by the carmaker starting from July 19 or you can contact Volvo yourself at 1-800-458-1552. You can also contact the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration’s vehicle safety hotline at 1-888-327-4236, or online using this link.
