Volvo is making new steps down the official tuning road in the US, with the automotive producer expanding its range of Polestar Performance packs in America.

There were already certain kits for VOlvo’s T5 engine and now the company is introducing a new development for its T6 powerplant: a new ECU map brings an extra 25 hp and 30 lb-ft (41 Nm) for a total of 330 hp and 355 lb-ft (481 Nm) and, as Volvo brags, all this without affecting fuel efficiency

The T6 Polestar package is offered for the XC60 T6 R-Design (MY2011-2012), C30 T5 (MY2008-2012), C70 T5 (MY2008-2012), as well as for the S40 T5 (MY2008-2011), with pricing starting from $1,495 (EUR 1,120) installed.

"Just a few weeks after announcing the performance package for select T5 models, we have already received tremendous feedback from our customers," said Chris Dauerer, VCNA's vice president of customer service. "With Polestar, we are able to deliver our performance-minded customers the enhanced driving package they have been looking for now across a variety of our carlines."
