“The Volvos were purchased because of their reliability, driver comfort and classy appearance,” said We Move Bikes director Tony Davis in a release. “Our fleet colour is black and this fits very comfortably with the internationally recognized Harley-Davidson livery of black and orange.”
Specified for long distance operations the Volvos are equipped with a 13-litre diesel rated at 500 hp, I-Shift fully-automated gearbox and Globetrotter cab. The vehicles are also equipped with dual 500-litre fuel tanks and extra large AdBlue reservoirs.
Other highlights of the Volvo FH units include chassis-mounted side skirts, Alcoa Durabright wheels, chequer-plate chassis infill and Kelsa light bars on the front and sides, while on the inside, driver comforts include a full-leather cab interior, refrigerator, microwave oven, coffee maker and flat-screen TV.
“Our drivers are expected to keep their vehicles in immaculate condition at all times and have to be ambassadors for both Harley-Davidson AND their own company when they’re on the road,” said We Move Bikes director Paul Lusty, adding: “Providing them with top-flight equipment demonstrates our commitment to these high standards.”
“There is only one small problem with these units and that is the worry that they attract almost as much attention as the motorcycles on display at the exhibitions we attend! But I guess we’ll just have to live with that,” concluded Davis.
