Volvo Commercial Taunts Porsche and Other German Carmakers

Now here’s a commercial that really brought a smile on our faces. Unlike Audi, who used complex scenes and mocked US driving in its latest commercial (for the 2012 A6), Volvo’s freshest ad is simple and just as acid, but much more politically correct and, if you ask us, better.
No special effects, no cheesy driving scenes, not even a car. In fact, there is no footage or image at all. The Swedish carmaker is thanking German drivers for making it the number one brand for customer satisfaction in Germany.

As for the acid part, the carmakers thanks German automotive producers, such as Audi, BMW, Opel, Mercedes, Porsche and Volkswagen for participating. Good one Volvo!

PS: it didn’t take Volvo too much to make the transition from looking for an owner to the current status which allows it to pull marketing stunts such as the adjacent one, so let’s see what Saab will do.
