It’s that side of life Volvo Buses is using to promote the advantages of silent, electric lorries.

When the Romeo-to-be realizes his chances may fade with the girl’s bus arriving at the station, he gathers any courage he has left and asks her out. The route will run between Lindholmen and Chalmers/Johanneberg in Gothenburg, Sweden. The first bus will start spinning its wheels on June 15th. Volvo’s vehicles are equipped with battery packs that can be quickly charged with renewable electricity. According to the automaker, the new route is the result of a cooperative venture for future sustainable public transport known as ElectriCity.
The pilot program is Sweden’s way of proving that cities can and will function in a sustainable way. In Gothenburg, industry, researchers and society are now working together to develop, test and demonstrate new solutions for the future. This cooperation stretches all the way to 2018 and goes under the name of ElectriCity.
