We may be in love with cars as grown-ups, but there was a time when driving a four-wheeler was not yet possible due to the lack of a license. It was back when the amount of responsibilities was a lot smaller, and when pure love stories were actually possible. It’s that side of life Volvo Buses is using to promote the advantages of silent, electric lorries.
It doesn’t mean we’re not confident pure things can’t happen to us anytime, no matter how old we get and how times change. It’s just that when you’re young, things seem a lot simpler, and life appears to be all about the little things. Just like these two teens who are shy and beautiful. The boy apparently likes the girl, and she does too, but none of them has the guts to ask the question.

When the Romeo-to-be realizes his chances may fade with the girl’s bus arriving at the station, he gathers any courage he has left and asks her out. The problem is the petrol bus is too loud for her to hear him. “An important moment in life - and how easily it might be missed,” it’s how Volvo describes their clip named Route 55.

The route will run between Lindholmen and Chalmers/Johanneberg in Gothenburg, Sweden. The first bus will start spinning its wheels on June 15th. Volvo’s vehicles are equipped with battery packs that can be quickly charged with renewable electricity. According to the automaker, the new route is the result of a cooperative venture for future sustainable public transport known as ElectriCity.

The pilot program is Sweden’s way of proving that cities can and will function in a sustainable way. In Gothenburg, industry, researchers and society are now working together to develop, test and demonstrate new solutions for the future. This cooperation stretches all the way to 2018 and goes under the name of ElectriCity.
