Volvo took the lead this year as it released the Ice White package for the C70 coupe convertible. The car got 2,350 pounds worth of extra equipment over the standard 2.0D S model for 24,495 pounds, 500 pounds less than the usual retail price.
From the visual standpoint, the C70 got an Ice White paint finish, boosted by 18 inch Midir diamond cut alloy wheels. On the interior, the C70 features Calcite leather upholstery with black interior trim and aluminum inlays.
"The Volvo C70 is Volvo's most aspirational car and with the addition of the Ice White benefits, this car will stand out even further from the crowd. We have seen a huge increase in the popularity of our ‘Ice White' color from customers, especially on C30, hence the launch of this model in time for summer," Peter Rask, Volvo Car UK managing director said.
Visual aspects aside, the Ice White edition is powered by 2.0l four cylinder diesel engine, which develops 136 horsepower. Fuel consumption for the powerplant rates at 46.3 mpg (6.l/100km) in combined cycle, while it releases 161g/km of CO2 for every kilometer travelled.
Being a Volvo and all, the C70 displays a wide range of safety features. Whiplash Protection System (WHIPS), Side Impact Protection System (SIPS), Roll-Over Protection System (ROPS) and Inflatable Curtain (IC), all are there to ensure you have as little chance as possible to get hurt while madly driving down coastal roads.
The convertible is however destined for the UK market. And no offense, but the weather over there, be it spring or summer, isn't the island's strong point. But, as Rask says, "whether it's a sun-blessed season or a traditional British washout, C70 owners can enjoy as much or as little of the weather as they like, thanks to the car's versatile hard-top convertible."
