The paint hasn't dried yet on the facelifted Volvo C30 and tuning packages are already available. Heico Sportiv recently presented an aftermarket package for the new C30 1.6D DRIVe that brings both styling and mechanical modifications.
In standard configuration, the car comes with start/stop and braking-energy recovery systems, each of them contributing to a fuel consumption of 3.9 l/100km (60.3 mpg) in combined cycle.
"The future of our business model lies in the intelligent combination of performance-oriented products and ecological sustainability," explains Heico Sportiv general manager, Holger Hedtke. "This is our basic starting point for proving that ecologically friendly action and the pleasure of driving don't need to be mutually exclusive. In doing so, aerodynamically optimized components such as the radiator grille or under-floor intentionally remain untouched."
After undergoing several modifications, the car develops a maximum power of 125 bhp and 280 Nm of torque, up from 109 bhp and 240 Nm in default form. It sprints from 0 to 100 km/h in 9.2 seconds, 2.1 faster than the stock model. The maximum speed is now 200 km/h, 10 km/h faster than the series versions.
Outside, the cars have been customized with 18- and 19-inch rims in Silver, Titanium and Black, stainless steel double and quad pipe exhaust system with "Heico Sportiv Sound Guarantee" for gasoline engines plus a sport suspension that lowers the body by 30 mm. Inside, the tuner used aluminum and leather to customize the door pin set, the pedal set and foot rest and even the parking brake handle.
Pricing for the tweaked model starts at 29,900 euro, with deliveries projected to begin in spring 2010.
