Volkswagen Polo Match Launched in the UK

The British division of Volkswagen decided to give the Polo range a boost in appeal, with the addition of the Match model that comes to replace the existing SE and Moda trim levels. The company claims the Polo Match provides £650 worth of equipment – but with a pricetag that means it costs £215 less than those models it replaces.

The Match is offered in three- and five-door guise, and is available with a choice of three engines. Specifically, there are two petrol units (a 1.2-litre three-cylinder producing 60 PS and  a 1.4-litre 85 PS ) and one diesel (a 1.2-litre 75 PS).

All are mated to a five-speed manual transmission as standard. A seven-speed DSG option is also available with the 1.4-litre petrol engine.

So let’s see what makes the Polo Match so great. Exterior highlights include 15-inch ‘Castille’ alloy wheels, front fog lights and heat-insulating tinted rear windows. Inside we find manual air conditioning, an RCD 310 radio / CD player, multifunction computer and MDI (Multi Device Interface) with iPod connectivity all standard.

The model is also fitted with electric windows and a comfort pack, incorporating remote central locking and electrically adjustable exterior mirrors. Safety wise, standard specification includes four airbags, ABS and ESP (Electronic Stabilisation Programme).
