The Polo Sedan is marketed under the name Vento in India, where it's actually more of a premium vehicle due to its high price relative the buying power of the local customers. Currently, it's only available with a 1.6-liter petrol engine and more recently with a 1.6-liter TDI diesel, but rumor has it TSI power is on the way.
indiacarsbikes.com reports that a 1.2 TSI engine will soon be introduced, the same one as the Polo GT 1.2 TSI model sold in India. This means the 16-valve version with 105 PS and 175 Nm of torque, probably fitted only with a DSG7 double-clutch gearbox.
The 1.6-liter TDI will also be replaced with a 1.5-liter TDI, which better meets the local market requirements.
