Earlier today, we presented Volkswagen Qatar Auto Show Touareg offensive, which includes the Race Touareg 3 Qatar and the Touareg Gold Edition. As we’ve already covered the first, we are now willing to see what the precious metal-packed SUV has to offer.

The answer is pretty simple: gold, 24-carat gold! The material is used for both the exterior and the interior. The list of gold-plated items includes the special 22-inch rims, roof rails, protective guard strips, window frames, mirror caps and parts of the air intake frame, the “Touareg V8” badge and boot sill trim. The vehicle is dressed in the same “Magic Morning” color as the Race Touareg 3 Qatar.

As for the interior, this uses 24-carat gold for multiple accents and switches, combined with a Luna trim, an Alcantara roofliner, as well as a Nappa leather seat finish that comes with ornamental stitching.

On the other hand, the dashboard is trimmed in a natural brown leather; contrasting seams in "Magnolia" colour perfect the colour scheme. Natural brown with leather inserts in "Luna" adorn the floor mats. Automotive craftsmanship at its finest is reflected in the Walnut Burr accents with genuine gold marquetry – also crafted into an ornamental pattern. This is in keeping with the general image of the Touareg, which – in the "normal" production version – is one of the most sophisticated SUVs in the world,” stated the press release.

Just like the Race Touareg Qatar 3, the Touareg Gold Edition is a concept, showcasing the SUV’s potential.
