Despite the fact that it is well known that Volkswagen will be revealing its new Up! in Brazil this year,  the company decided on keeping  Volkswagen fans on their toes and released a teaser image of the soon to be launched car.
Unfortunately, the particular image doesn’t reveal too much (as expected). The Up will reportedly come with a cheaper steel tailgate instead of the glass door.

Besides this, what we find as being a one of a kind feature is the way in which the Brazilian version will have turn indicators on the side rear view mirrors, something that can’t be found on any of the previous Up! models.

Concerning its engine, the brand new Up!  will come with a 1-liter three-cylinder that is compatible with flex-fuel (petrol + ethanol)  plus a 5-speed manual transmission available across range. The engine is a simple 12-valve unit and is rated at 82 horsepower.

As far as the price goes, it might range from R$ 26,000 to R$ 28,000 (US$10,979 and US$11,8240)  but we can’t say for sure.

In case Brazilian drivers want to keep themselves up to date with the campaign, they can check out the company’s website for the Volkswagen Up!.  Here, they can sign up for first hand news on the vehicle the will succeed the Gol sometime between February and March this year.
