Rumored to arrive as a production model in 2016, the Volkswagen Taigun, the company entry-level crossover based on the Taigun concept show in Brazil last year, won’t be available in the United States.
According to Autoweek, Volkswagen claims that the new model’s compact dimensions and three-cylinder gasoline and diesel engines won’t fit American tastes. It’s probably what Ford said about its new EcoSport crossover. Talk about playing it safe...
Adding to last month’s report about the Taigun being readied for 2016, Autoweek says the new German crossover will arrive with a choice of three-cylinder gas and diesel options, and a natural gas version. The vehicle will be front-wheel drive exclusive and will become available with manual and dual-clutch transmissions.
No further details have been revealed, but we’ll be right back as soon as new info surfaces onto the web.
