Volkswagen T6 Tuned into Diesel Hybrid with 1100 Nm by MTM

This year's Geneva Motor Show is going to be an all-out war between two famous tuners: MTM and ABT. We've just shown you the Volkswagen T6 made by the latter, and now we have the T6 E-Motion that MTM came up with.

We only have a few photos to share with you guys. However, the green paint and VW Beetle chrome wheels are not what's important (they are just photoshop of a VW photo). For about a decade, people have been begging VW to make a hybrid Bulli, but MTM jumped the gun and gave the T6 its first electric motors.

The Germans started out with a 2.0 BiTDI version and tuned the engine from 204 to 240 PS. As if that weren't enough, they also installed a couple of electric hub motors at the rear axle. Each produces 15 kW, adding up to a total output of, wait for it, 282 PS.

If you like engineering overkill, check out the custom aluminum frame and reduction gears that MTM had to fabricate for this project. Considering that 1100 Nm of torque are now available, we'd say it was totally worth it.

While the T6 will rival a Brabus Rocket in the torque department, it won't keep up with it in a straight line. 0 to 100 km/h takes 8.2 seconds, and the top speed is over 200 km/h according to MTM. Still, that's way better than the standard model.

The tuner insists that the standard brakes are more than adequate at coping with the extra performance on offer. However, they changed the standard round things for 275/35 ZR 20 Michelin Pilot Super Sport tires mounted on Bimoto 9 x 20 rims to give a muscular appearance and "surprisingly agile handling."

The T6 E-Motion will be joined in Geneva by an RS3 hyper hatchback with 500 horsepower and MTM's European take on the SVT Raptor, which combines an Amarok pickup with the V8 TDI engine of a Touareg.
