Volkswagen is turning to the dark side. A group of young Padawans along with a mini-Chewbacca and most of the characters in Star Wars is chasing Dark Vader. A VW-branded Death Star threatens Earth and the only way the planet can be saved is to search for the good in the enemy.
In case you may be wondering what happened to us all of a sudden, rest assured, we haven’t gone coo-coo just yet. What we wrote above describes what happens in a parody Greenpeace has created after a 2011 Volkswagen commercial. Don’t panic if you don’t remember it, we’ve listed it below.

We’re not doing a repost, mind you, the reason we’re talking about this rather amusing clip is that the environmentalists have just posted it again. They posted the clip saying that they warned us four years ago. With the diesel emissions scandal, it has now been proved that Volkswagen is lying to everybody.

Four years ago, Greenpeace was advocating for a European law that would lower greenhouse gas emissions with up to 30%. According to the international non-governmental environmental organization, the giant automaker was paying millions on lobbyists to keep the rates as they were, considering it would affect their business. Here’s an excerpt of the 2011 post:

Despite the green image it likes to portray, VW is at the heart of a group of companies lobbying against new laws which we need to cut CO2 emissions, reduce our oil use and protect places like the Arctic from climate change. Only a rebellion can stop them – a mass of people from all across the globe –demanding that they change. We need you to be part of that rebellion.

Whether or not these accusations were based on solid proof, we don’t know. But as you all know now, it turns out Volkswagen was lying, and it wasn’t just a small misunderstanding. We’re talking about 11 million cars that are affected by their manipulated diesel emissions; what's even worse, that number may get bigger.

Like it or not, Greenpeace’s repost makes a lot of sense if you think about it.
