Volkswagen Polo 1.6 TDI 90 Tuned to 140 HP by Digiservices

At first glance, Volkswagen's 1.6 TDI seems underpowered compared to its rivals. Sure, the top-output version was recently bumped from 105 PS to 110 PS in some models like the Golf or SEAT Leon, but a Honda Civic 1.6 DTEC has 120 PS, a Megan 1.6 dCI 130 PS and even a Fiat engine gets you 120 PS.

There's obviously untapped potential that Volkswagen doesn't really care about, since the 1.6 TDI is all about economy, not power. How much potential? Time to see the tuners.

If you have a VW Polo 1.6 TDI and you want to tune it, you'll probably go to ABT Sportsline. They'll as for €1,600 and in return boost the 105 PS version to 125 PS. However, we found a French company that will give you more. Digiservices remapped the 1.6-liter turbodiesel and got 140 PS , plus over 310 Nm of torque. The Parisian company seems to have done a number of identical projects based on this engine, judinging from the number of videos we've been able to find.

By no means do we recommend doing this to your car, especially if it's still under warranty. 90 hp in a supermini should be enough, but if it's not...
