Volkswagen Passat Driver Makes a Real Mess on Russian Street

We have said time and again that speeding in the city is all-but irrelevant, and the few seconds (rarely minutes) you gain in doing so are definitely not worth the risk. We have found yet another video which proves the point, and eloquently so.
This late 1990s Volkswagen Passat driver is clearly in a hurry. He tries overtaking several cars, on a stretch of road where there were only two lanes - one for each way. He snags a classic Lada, and makes it crash into a van from the oncoming lane, which he also crashed into a fraction of a second before - it`s all just a really big mess, as the article title suggests.

In the given situation, even if the driver had some kind of emergency, there was really no room to overtake, and doing so, especially at high speed, would have been extremely dangerous. Thankfully, this isn`t the kind of crash where people get hurt, and the only repercussions of the crash were the VW driver losing his license and possibly a fine.
