Combining the tough crossover look with the practical side of things, Volkswagen has just released details of a new product called the Cross Caddy, a people’s van that wants to go anywhere.
As is usually the case with VW’s Cross models, the Caddy gets plastic protectors for the wheelarches, the lower part of the front and rear bumpers and door sills. The toughening process has also added metallic protectors for the front and rear underbody.
To really make the Caddy special, VW has also added tinted glass, 17-inch wheels, roof rails in silver and a choice of eight colors, including this snazzy ‘Viper Green’ stolen from th Scirocco.
The Cross Caddy will go on sale across Europe early in 2013, offered either as a five- or seven-seater MPV with a full range of TSI and TDI engines. Both DSG and 4Motion all-wheel drive will be optional.
