Volkswagen Launches BlueMotion Technology Packages

As more producers promote hybrid technologies in order to get their vehicles to save more fuel and get the CO2 emissions lower, Volkswagen insists on their plans to achieve greener vehicles by downsizing their engines.

The Passat BlueMotion is equipped with a 1.6 TDI engine and provides a good balance. Some of the ideas used in the Passat BlueMotion, like brake energy recovery, start/stop system and various aerodynamic measures are used to lower consumption and emissions.

In addition to the Passat BlueMotion, the German automaker launches three new BuleMotion Technology packages available for various models. Therefore the basic technologies from the BlueMotion models are being integrated throughout the range. The result is a new offer of nine additional vehicles with the BlueMotion Technology package.

The Golf and Golf Plus got a new 1.6 TDI engine with 105 hp which can have a 6-speed manual gearbox or the 7-speed DSG. The Scirocco, Eos and Tiguan are available with the 1.4 TSI engine offering a 122 hp output. The bigger vehicles like Passat, Passat Estate, Passat CC and Tiguan can be ordered with a 2.0 TDI engine that produces 140 CP.

The BlueMotion packages are meant to achieve a good compromise between power, acceleration and a low fuel consumption and CO2 emissions. We're still looking forward to VW's first hybrid care for sale.
