The Grid. A digital frontier. I tried to picture clusters of information as they moved through the computer. What do they look like? Ships, motorcycles? No, they look like tuned VW Golfs, awesome ones at that!
Take the best looking, most well built family hatchback on the market, slam it to the ground and make it look like something out of a science fiction movie. Now that, gentlemen, is the formula for success in this day and age.
This is the work of two awesome tuning companies from Austria, Low-Car-Scene and BlackBox-Richter. They started with a Golf VII 3-door powered by the 1.4-liter TSI turbo engine with 140 PS. With Cylinder on Demand, it's already an impressive cruising machine, sipping fuel at a reduced rate, but that's not enough to make it a Tron light vehicle.
Large diameter 20-inch ally wheels made from three pieces and costing €6,000 ($8000) a set are the very first step of the transformation, followed closely by an air ride system costing another €3,600 ($4,700).
That very sexy new front bumper is a reworked version of the R-Line trim for the Golf VI. The project is pulled off by deleting the front emblem and rear wiper for a cleaner loo.
