Volkswagen Golf GTI Worthersee 09 Concept

After yesterday we told you about Audi Q5 and the custom concept through which it will attend the Worthersee Tour in Reifnitz, Austria, we come back on the matter today and give you a glimpse into the vehicles Volkswagen will come to the event with.

The star of the show will be the Volkswagen Golf GTI Wörthersee 09. Powered by a 2.0l TSI engine which develops 210 horsepower, the GTI achieves a top speed of 238 km/hour (148 mph) and reaches 100 km/hour in 6.9 seconds.

The major tweaks can be seen on the outside of the car. It is painted in special glowing red color - Firespark Metallic -, which is repeated as a fine trim line on the high-gloss black 19-inch alloy spoke wheels and in the classic GTI stripes of the radiator grille screen. At the back, the concept GTI boasts an entirely new, smoked LED taillight design.

On the interior, the Golf GTI Worthersee 09 comes with high-end aluminum tread plates with "GTI Wörthersee 09" signature, trim in brushed aluminum and glossy black painted frames around the air vents and bordered floor mats.

"GTI drivers in particular know that form follows function. The Worthersee 09 Edition not only pleases with its tasteful style, it was also intensified technically in the direction of performance. The lowered sport chassis enables maximum curve speeds. And the acoustics is not short-changed either: the new sport exhaust system provides for an extra measure of dynamic sound. This will be music to the ears of genuine GTI fans," Volkswagen said about the concept.

Alongside the Golf GTI Worthersee 09, Volkswagen will also bring a special edition Polo Worthersee 09. Details on this model will follow shortly.
