German automaker Volkswagen has released the first teaser image of one of their GTI concepts that will be showcased at the 2013 Worthersee show scheduled later this month.
The manufacturer refrained from unveiling detailed information, but did say that this specific Golf GTI was created by 13 company trainees. In fact, the vehicle is more than just a concept car, as it was built as part of a training program that gathered “13 young men and women”.
"With projects like this, our students learn an incredible amount," said Prof. Werner Neubauer, Volkswagen Passenger Cars brand manager for the business component. "For their GTI they could choose from a variety of components. You have seen how diverse our model range. And they have seen what high quality standards we at Volkswagen.”
The concept car teased above is not the only Golf GTI to be introduced at Worthersee 2013. Volkswagen also announced that a “more realistic” version of the Golf GTI W12 will be presented in Austria. While no additional info has been released, one can speculate that the German will most likely preview the Edition 40 GTI.
