The seventh generation Golf GTI is more efficient than ever and we would say you don't need a GTD any more. Except the new GTD is also more efficient, comparable even with a 1.6 TDI.
Despite averaging at about 4.5 liters/100km (with DSG6), the brand new Golf GTD 2.0 TDI gets from 0 to 100 km/h in just 7.5 seconds and only stops once it reaches 228 km/h. That's performance that people need to take seriously, but not seriously enough that they can't joke about it.
Confused? Just check out the commercial below and tell us you didn't LOL a little bit. The bad dad has so much fun in his diesel hot hatch he destroys the family's pizza in the process. His wife will probably leave him and take the kids with her, but at least he gets awesome bangs per buck so child support isn't going to be a problem.
