Volkswagen Golf 7 GTD Tuned to 210 HP by ABT

A few days ago, we showed you the acceleration battle between a Golf 6 GTD and a newer but less powerful Golf 7 2.0 TDI. They were both very impressive, but if you want to see something really scary, look no further than the Golf 7 GTD that’s been created by German specialist ABT.

The body kit and wheels are all familiar from other Golf 7 projects, so we’ll just focus on the engine mods. The GTD uses a 2-liter TDI engine which through better breathing, a new exhaust and ECU map has been boosted from 185 PS and 380 Nm to a more impressive 210 PS and 430 Nm of torque.

If those numbers don’t impress you, let’s put them in perspective. The hp is the same as the Golf 6 GTI, but the torque is what you’d expect to get from a 3-liter diesel V6 and is what really pulls the car along.

ABT has not benchmark tested the car, but it should be noticeably faster than the stock 7.5 seconds to 100 km/h.
