Called the Amarok Edition, the new Hannover-built mule is based on the entry-level Trendline trim and includes more than £3,400 of additional equipment. With prices starting from £22,495 (excluding VAT), the company claims UK customers will save about £2,000 overall.

Available in two exterior colors, Reflex Silver & Deep Black, the Amarok Edition comes with body-colored bumpers and wheels arches, 18-inch Durban alloy wheels, black side step and bars across the load area and special edition decals. Other standard features include front/rear parking sensors, floor mats, Bluetooth connectivity and satellite navigation with a five-inch color touchscreen.

Under the hood customers will find the familiar 2.0-liter BiTDI engine that delivers 180 HP and 420 Nm of torque, which translated into a towing capability of 3,200 kg. The truck can be had with either a six-speed manual gearbox or the new eight-speed automatic transmission with permanent 4MOTION. The Amarok Edition is limited to only 300 units.

“Creating the right image is very important for a lot of our customers, so we’ve had great pleasure creating the bespoke specification for the Amarok Edition,” said Mark Hopkins, head of marketing for Volkswagen Commercial Vehicles. “It not only looks great, but offers fantastic value too.”
