Would you just look at it! Don’t know about you, but this thing here is the proof I needed to understand that the Maybach division is able to do much better than just rebadging the S-Class. No official intel has been published yet, so let’s take a minute and give it a second look.

What’s in a name, you ask? Well, Vision refers to the future of the Maybach brand. The company was founded in 1909 and Daimler-Benz (now called Daimler AG) acquired in the 1960s. Regarding the 6 at the end of this mammoth’s name, it denotes the length of the car.

From nose to hind, the Vision Mercedes-Maybach 6 Concept is a 6-meter long flight of wonder. That’s 19.685 feet or almost as long as a Ford E-Series van. Heck, even the Cadillac Escalade ESV is smaller than this thing at 5,697 millimeters or 18.691 feet. Even though it has a handful of Mercedes-Benz 540K Autobahnkurier and Maybach SW38 styling cues, this thing looks as if it was designed by an alien. It's out of this world, frankly.

Pop open the gullwing doors and hop inside. What do you see? Yup, somebody with a passion for Star Trek was inspired by the Starship Enterprise. The plasma globe-style transmission tunnel is to die for.

What else can I tell you about the bewitching Vision Mercedes-Maybach 6 Concept? Well, I can’t ignore the fact that there’s an elephant in the room. And that elephant resides behind the super-skinny, heavily polished waterfall grille. Yup, nobody knows what kind of engine is hiding under the hood.

I’m tempted to go with an electric powertrain because there are no visible exhaust outlets, but there’s a problem with that assumption - where is the charging port? Tomorrow the mystery will be solved for certain.
