Billed as the “10th front-engined V12 one-off Ferrari” has created in its modern times (since the 2009 P540 Superfast Aperta), the Omologata rocked the coachbuild world with its attention to details and classy 812 Superfast conversion. While it was specifically done at the behest of a wealthy European client, some might say the one-off would have been truly perfect if also sporting an open top.
Well, other than having a bank account that’s large enough for the Ferrari team led by Flavio Manzoni (the brand’s Senior Vice President of Design) to satisfy this fantasy, there’s no other option except for being content with a virtual depiction of the Omologata Spider that may never come to be.
Fortunately, there are others who think just about the same, so cue in to Behance user and Russian graphic designer Aksyonov Nikita. He was quick to come up with a possible depiction of the Spider version, hot on the heels of the official presentation of the real Omologata at the end of last month.
As far as we can tell, he left untouched parts of the official design – and only operated changes to the top and rear areas. Actually, we’re in a little conundrum as to whether we approve with the open top – usually we’re always down to sporting the wind in our hair... but the Omologata’s treatment of the rear-window is quite exquisite, to be frank. Tough call, seriously!
On the other hand, it wouldn’t be hard at all to guess what powers this Prancing Horse – there's no point in changing the V12 from under the front hood. The naturally aspirated 6.5-liter V12 is right where it belongs in either interpretations, kicking off with its 800 ps (789 hp) at a moment’s notice.
Those Pirelli tires sure seem to know very well why they’re sporting P Zero red detailing... it’s probably to match their bleeding after a feisty track session.
