Everyone is in a rush to buy or sell something on Black Friday, but one used cars dealership owner from Chesapeake, Virginia, was all about giving back to the community.
His name is Jeff Wine and he owns the Wine Automotive dealership. He sells used cars and, while he’s just as focused on profit as any other businessman, he also wants to make sure he gives something back to the community. This Black Friday was no different, ABC8 News reports.
“Made some goals when I was 20 years-old, and one of them was giving back to he world,” he tells the media outlet. “When I bought this place, I really wanted to make sure it worked that way. I'm a firm believer that if you give, it will come back to you. I believe it in my heart.”
So, each month, he scrolls through the story submitted in a form on the official website and chooses one that’s the most touching. To that person, he offers a brand new car, in the hope that it will be of use to them or might even help them turn their life around.
On Black Friday, that person was Tiffany O’Neal, a single mother of 7 who lives nearby and whose story was submitted by her 15-year-old son. She didn’t have a car and she badly needed one that would fit all her children at the same time, so Wine decided he was the best person to help her out.
He surprised her with a brand new 2011 Buick Enclave. The gift couldn’t come at a better time: Tiffany just found out that the landlord of the house she was renting had let it go into foreclosure, so she needed something positive to happen to keep her going.
She didn’t know what would happen when she arrived at Wine Automotive. She actually thought she was getting a ride to her son’s next job interview, so she was quite confused when Wine presented her with the keys to the car – and obviously happy, too.
“This is the best thing ever. I've never been blessed like this in my life. I'm very excited,” she says.
