Stop trolling. We’re older than seven, so we know the difference between 1,000 hp and 600 hp is 400 hp. However, when you get out on the street, the results might be different to what you imagine from behind the keyboard.
We know the power of example always works, so we’ve brought along a clip that shows what happens when two cars using the muscle levels stated above go head to ahead.

Sure, this is not the perfect setup, as we are talking about street racing, but we’ll have to work with it. Oh well, at least the clip packs two cars which are well known to those following the US drag racing scene.

In the Orange corner, we have a Gen. V Dodge Viper, one whose V10 has been massaged to 632 hp at the wheels. This is a Viper TA we’re talking about, with the aero package of the vehicle creating a bit of extra drag that’s not fit for drag racing, but the owner doesn’t seem to be bothered by this.

In the Black corner, sits a Toyota Supra that uses a turbo large enough to scare many competitors away. When delivering 40 psi of boost, the turbo gifts the driver of the JDM machine with no less than 1,050 hp (once again, we are talking about power at the wheels).

What happens when two cars that are a Ford Mustang GT apart (give or take) race?

While the clip below gives us an answer to that question, don’t expect the conclusion to be dropped on us from the get-go. Instead, the video starts with the Supra using only 20 psi of boost. We don’t know the power rating for that boost value, but we can tell you it’s enough to make the battle interesting.
