Viba Lara 800, the MV Agusta-Powered Custom Luxury Scrambler

Lara 800 is nowhere near the traditional scrambler machine that seems to dominate the custom scene for some time. In fact, the Lara 800 is hardly a scrambler, truth be told. It is a mixture of streetfighter and scrambler genes, most likely doing much better on the asphalt than in the dirt. And with its base price, you'll certainly don't want to drop it on the gravel and smash it against muddy ruts too much.

An exclusivist, luxurious treat from the French house Viba, the Lara 800 is the brainchild of bike and art aficionado Bruno Vigezzi, industrialist Jean-Michel Sanchez, and Yann Bakony, a designer. The resulting machine is a rather precious-looking creation that will definitely turn a lot of heads.

The heart of an MV Agusta Brutale 800

Lara 800 has the heart and the vibe ov the MV Agusta Brutale 800. The 798cc, 125 hp triple-cylinder engine sits in a steel trellis frame with black, textured, powder coated looks, complemented by an aluminium swingarm.

The lightweight rear subframe accommodates a custom solo seat sporting foam of various densities for premium support and a comfortable ride. The seat is covered in leather, and can be, like many other features of the Lara 800, customized almost infinitely in terms of color and leather patterns.

Crazy Racers crafted the one-piece aluminium fuel tank according to Viba's specifications and design, and it can arrive in clear coats or custom-paint versions. All the lighting modules use LED lamps. The high-mounted scrambler-esque exhaust is ceramic-coated and its shape speaks the Zard design language.

The base option for the fork is a Marzocchi unit, but an Ohlins Black Edition is on the options list. The rear suspension uses an Elka monoshock, and the feel of the Lara 800 can be, of course, adjusted according to rider, riding style or riding surface.

Lara 800 is all about exclusiveness, but we didn't expect Viba to ditch the Brembo brakes. Anyway, this happened, and the bike got radial Aerotec front calipers from Beringer and a matching unit for the rear. The rims have been sourced from Borrani and shod with Avon TrailRider rubber. Options include a two-up seat and matching pegs.

As we already mentioned that the Lara 800 is not going to be too easy to spot in the wild because it is a custom, made-to-order limited-run machine, we must tell you that it is not a cheap one. In fact, it is not cheap at all. If you feel like riding one of the 21 remaining Lara 800 (first one sold, the second pre-ordered), you must get ready for a €10,000 ($11,075) deposit. The deposit goes towards a stock-spec €32,310 ($35,790) price (without taxes), with optional equipment and features raising the bar.
