Vettel, the Nicest Guy in Formula 1 - Raikkonen

Although Sebastian Vettel has had his share of frustrating moments in the 2010 Formula One championship – signaling that his teammate Mark Webber has some issues with his head in the Turkish Grand Prix and gesturing at the race marshals in Hungary being only two that come to mind at the moment – he is regarded as the nicest guy in the F1 paddock.

And it's not some reporter saying this, in an effort to boost baby Schu's image in the sport, but the very Iceman, Kimi Raikkonen. Now focusing on his new career in the World Rally Championship, Raikkonen recalls not spending too much time with his fellow drivers in the paddock during his F1 years, except for the young German.

I have hardly any contact with the other drivers. Sometimes I play badminton with Vettel,” admitted Raikkonen in an interview with spox.com. Being asked to share his opinion on Vettel's chances of bagging his maiden F1 title in career, the Finn added: “I think so. But mostly he's just the nicest guy of them all.

Vettel is currently 3rd overall in the drivers' classification, 10 points behind teammate Mark Webber and 6 points down to McLaren's Lewis Hamilton.

However, 3-time world champion Niki Lauda revealed that one of Vettel's main problems this season was that he underestimated his much more experienced teammate Mark Webber, considering himself the No 1 driver in the Red Bull team. The sooner he can grow out of that one, the better for the 23-year old driver.

His (Vettel's) disadvantage was to see himself as the number one. Vettel assumed that he has the full support of the team. But Webber has more points and team orders no longer exist. He must look reality in the eye and free himself from the idea that he is the number one,” said Lauda in an interview with Motorsport Aktuell.
