Vettel Still Not No 1 for Red Bull

Only 3.5 points separate the two Red Bull Racing drivers in this year's overall standings, with Sebastian Vettel leading from veteran Mark Webber in 3rd place. Considering that the duo did a great job to cut Jenson Button's lead during the British weekend at Silverstone – when both recuperated points to the Brawn GP leader – and we're only halfway through the 2009 season, there can be no team orders within the Milton Keynes outfit.

Although Vettel is so far the only race winner in Red Bull's lineup, team principal Christian Horner once again insisted that we can't talk about a No 1 driver in the team for the time being. Webber's three runner-up spots this year sure count for something, and Horner knows a first race win in Formula One is on its way for the 32-year old Aussie.

There's no no.1 driver. Updates are being introduced to the cars equally at every race, and that's the way it will continue for the rest of the season,” confirmed Horner for the AAP news agency.

Red Bull are among the few teams in the Formula One paddock – joined by Brawn GP – to implement changes race in and race out to both its cars. So far, both Webber and Vettel have used the latest updates set up at Milton Keynes equally, which makes for an even-Steven situation all the way in this year's title hunt.

Horner also dismissed rumors about tension between the Red Bull drivers, insisting that their sporting rivalry is a great way to move the team forward in the standings.

They're both professional drivers, they're both at different stages in their career, but they work for a strong team. Obviously there is a competitive rivalry, but it's a professional rivalry between the two of them,” added the British official, according to the aforementioned source.
