Vettel Likes F1 Life without Manager

Red Bull's Sebastian Vettel is the youngest driver in the history of Formula One to become world champion. And as impressive as that is, what's even more interesting, we believe, is the fact that the German racer is not managed by anyone just yet.

That's right, from the moment he stepped into F1 as a driver for BMW Sauber F1 and until this very moment, the German did not need anyone to represent his interests. He let only his talent do the talking and, from the looks of it, this decision was not bad at all. Although he hasn't been able to squeeze a major salary from his current employer Red Bull – Vettel is not exactly one of the highest paid drivers in F1 – the 23-year old likes his situation just as it is.

I think there were also some earlier drivers who have made it without managers. There are people in the team who I can turn to and also people from outside, like friends and family,” Vettel told Austrian television Servus TV.

If you're about to make an important decision, you talk to the people you want to take to. Then, after everything, you make the decision for yourself and I don't want that to change,” he added.

His being managed by himself – we tend to believe that his racing style did most of the talking – got him a deal with Red Bull until the end of 2012, and what's better is that the Austrians are planning to offer him an extension until 2015. That in addition to him being everybody's favorite inside the Red Bull garage.

Shortly after the Abu Dhabi finale, Red Bull's owner Dietrich Mateschitz admitted that unless his team provides Vettel with a winning car from now on, it will be hard to keep the German at Milton Keynes for much longer.
