Vettel Insists He's Not Schumacher

Even though he became the youngest driver in the history of Formula One to become world champion, 23-year old Sebastian Vettel insisted he is no Michael Schumacher. The Red Bull racer has had some incredible years since he first stepped into F1, winning 10 races, scoring 15 pole positions and taking 381 championship points.

From the moment he stepped into the series, Vettel was considered by many the new Michael Schumacher. Since the German had left F1 at the end of 2006, Germany no longer had a driver to count on for the future, and Vettel's talent appealed to many. Consequently, he was unofficially names “Baby Schu”

Now that he finally became world champion, the German avoided to compare himself to the 41-year old, saying that he's barely starting his F1 career. Whether that means he plans to break Schumacher's records or simply play modest, we're not sure.

I don't compare his career and his life with mine. He's a legend and I'm only at the start. In terms of age, all those options are open – but there is no guarantee,” said Vettel in a recent interview with Germany's Bild.

The man who favors Vettel the most within the Red Bull organization, Austrian advisor Helmut Marko, told the media last week that he believes this is just one of many titles to be won by Vettel in Formula One. However, he did admit that in order for all those titles to be brought to Milton Keynes, Red Bull must provide Vettel with a title-winning car year after year. Otherwise, Vettel's dream of one day racing for Ferrari – another resemblance to “Schumi” - might turn to reality sooner rather than later.
