Vettel Admits Webber was Untouchable in Germany

Although there were plenty or rumors suggesting the two Red Bull drivers are not exactly the best of teammates, Sebastian Vettel was the first one to congratulate Mark Webber for his dominant win at the Nurburgring. Although he was practically beaten in his very back yard, Vettel admitted his teammate was a too tougher nut to crack on Sunday.

Congratulations to him, today he was unbeatable so he totally deserved to win. Another one-two finish for the team. I am very, very happy. I would like to say I am very, very pleased with second but yesterday Mark did a better job and that is why he deserved to win,” respectfully argued Vettel after the race.

Webber's dominant weekend at the Ring – pole position and race win – came only one round away from Vettel's similar performance at Silverstone, when he raced in a league of his own throughout the entire weekend.

As for his home grand prix, Vettel admitted a good reason why he was unable to match his performance in the British GP was his poor positioning on the starting grid. Plus, he lost no less than 4 positions at the start, as he was easily overtaken by the KERS-powered McLarens and Ferraris.

All the KERS cars got past me, I started fourth and then went into first corner eighth. And then basically I struggled a lot with the soft tyre. There was no way to pass Felipe, he used his special button when I was quite close. I was lucky to have the right strategy, in the end it brought us back to the correct position,” added Vettel.

Both Vettel and Webber managed to climb a spot in the drivers' classification, as they both overtook Brawn GP's Rubens Barrichello. Only 1.5 points separates the duo in the standings, which can only mean no team orders from Red Bull for at least one more race this season.
