Very Original and Very Unmolested 1969 Caprice Is Simply Irresistible

Like other Chevrolets produced by GM in the late ‘60s, the 1969 model year Caprice received additional styling improvements, including new bumpers and refined body lines for a more modern look.

However, the ’69 Caprice also got several changes under the hood, where the 327 cu. in. (5.4-liter) standard engine now developed 235 horsepower. The optional choices for this model included several V8 units, all of them available with a three-speed Turbo Hydramatic transmission.

The Caprice we have here is one of these models, as it comes with a numbers-matching 427 cu. in. (7.0-liter) V8 paired with the aforementioned transmission.

While everything is in working condition, the truly special thing about this Caprice comes down to just one word: original. Nothing has been modified on the car, and the seller explains it has indeed been repainted, albeit in the factory-correct Azure Turquoise finish.

This is a truly high-optioned model, so it’s fitted with plenty of goodies, including factory air conditioning, power steering, power brakes with discs on the front, and hide-away headlights. And since it’s a survivor, it still sports the original chrome and frame without absolutely any repairs performed since the car left the factory 51 years ago.

However, a vehicle this old clearly needs some touches here and there, and the photos and video embedded in this article pretty much speak for themselves. The cracks in the dash and the rips in the seats are chief among the things you might want to take care off should you aim for a Caprice in tip-top shape.

Needless to say, the engine runs and drives just like it’s supposed to, and the odometer indicates 93,900 miles (151,117 km), all documented. The car is currently with its fourth owner and was sold new in Wichita, Kansas.

Listed online by AR Industries Online, the Caprice can be yours today for $23,900, but the “Make Offer” button has also been activated should you want to negotiate the price.
