Vectrix and smart to Show Electric Scooter in 2014

An electric scooter is most likely one of the few items still missing from the roster of notorious small-vehicle manufacturer smart. And since smart wants a ice piece of zero local emission machinery, rumor has it they will be teaming up with another well-known brand, Vectrix.

With a smart electric scooter prototype first surfacing at the Paris Motor Show in 2010, it looked like things were about to move really fast, but the finished scooter will need at least one more year of development.

Now, with Vectrix already being a revered name in the electric scooter industry and smart boasting a resounding heritage when it comes to urban mobility and small-sized auto design, we'd expect the new creation to be really nice and surface with a decent price tag.

Dr. Annette Winkler, Head of smart, says that the new scooter will offer unique features for their category of vehicles, but no further data has been disclosed. We can hope however that the Vectrix-smart scooter will not be plagued by the issues which once affected smart cars.
