We are talking about a 2.0-liter four-cylinder unit that delivers 198 hp at 4,000 rpm and a peak torque of 400 Nm (295 lb-ft) between 1,750 and 2,500 rpm.

Lower in the rev band, we have a smaller turbo that aims to reduce lag and offers up to 350 Nm (258 lb-ft) starting from 1,500 rpm, while when we climb to the mid-range, both turbos feed air to the engine, offering a peak torque of 400 Nm between 1,650 and 2,500 rpm. Once the engine passes 3,000, only the larger turbo is used.

Even though the BiTurbo offers more power & torque, it manages to return a higher efficiency than the single-turbo unit. In the Insignia front-wheel-drive hatch, it offers a combined efficiency of 57.6 UK mpg (4.9 liters per 100 km or 48 US mpg), while offering the car a 0 to 60 mph (96 km/h) time of 8.2 seconds.

Vauxhall offers the Insignia BiTurbo with a starting price of GBP27,120.
