Vauxhall is taking its new Astra VXR to the Rockingham track in Northamptonshire for the car’s launch, with the carmaker set to hold a special motorsport event on the occasion.
Dubbed Motor Sport Association accredited Astra VXR Media Sprint Challenge, this will be held between Monday, June 11 and Wednesday, June 13, and will see three groups of journalists from national motoring titles and regional press fighting for the best time.
The journalists will take part in a competition that will take them on a a three hour, 110 mile route on the roads surrounding Rockingham, which will be followed by a safety briefing for the tack sprint event.
