Valerie managed to reach an average top speed of 304 mph (489.2 km/h) in the “7” Streamliner on September 1 designed by Denis Manning. After three license-qualification runs, she passed the speed traps at 294 and 304 mph (473 and 489 km/h) for the first two runs.

In the final attempt, she managed a whopping 313 mph (503.7 km/h) which also bagged the Top Speed of the Event Award alongside the World’s Fastest Female Motorcycle Racer.

“I’ve dreamed about this since I first started racing. This never would have happened without Denis Manning and team owners, John Jans and Joe Harralson. I can’t thank them and the entire Team “7” Racing crew members enough for all their hard work during the competition,” Thompson said.

According to the streamlined bike designer, Valerie managed to quickly adjust from racing a conventional motorcycle to driving the unusual machine with double the power. And, most importantly, she managed to reach the goal of exceeding 300 mph (482.8 km/h) on a 3-mile (4.8 km) course instead of a standard 5-mile one streamliners usually require.

Valerie is a seven-time land speed record holder and independent female owner/driver, fielding her own record-setting BMW S 1000 RR in land speed competitions with plans to race in the NHRA Pro Stock Motorcycle class in 2017.

She is also an official member of the Bonneville Motorcycle Speed Trials 201 MPH Club, Mojave Magnum 200 MPH Club, ECTA 200 MPH Club, Texas Mile 200 MPH Club, first female member of the Colorado Mile 200 MPH Club as well as a lifetime member of the Bonneville 200 MPH Club. You can really call her “America’s Queen of Speed”.
