Remember Valentino Rossi’s #thisforSIC58 Dainese leathers he wore in the Mugello MotoGP round on the 1st of June? Good, because they can now be yours, as The Doctor and Dainese have listed them up for sale on the Italian eBay. Now, if you really want to own this piece of magic MotoGP history, you’ll have to do battle with (so far) 122 other chaps who are also eyeing Vale’s suit and are definitely not going to let it go that easily.
To understand how fierce the auction went on since this unique leather suit was listed for auction, we should mention that the price went up to reach a hefty €24,001 ($32,690), 24 hours before the auction’s end. The suit is the very one Valentino Rossi wore in the Gran Premio D’Italia TIM round to finish third on the podium, and is a race-spec Dainese D-Air unit. Valentino Rossi autographed the leathers and they will be delivered to the winning bidder in a clear plastic display case.

All the proceedings will go towards the Marco Simoncelli Foundations, a charitable, non-profit organization created by Super Sic’s father Paolo for supporting the disadvantaged. Since the Marco Simoncelli Foundation is currently building a day center for disabled people near Coriano, Sic’s home town, you can figure out where the funds will go.

Rossi and Simoncelli have been very good friends, besides being rivals on the race track, but disaster stroke at Sepang in 2011, when Rossi and Colin Edwards could not avoid hitting Super Sic after he came off his bike. The crash tore off his helmet and he succumbed to his chest and head injuries, while Edwards suffered a dislocated shoulder after crashing subsequently. Rossi managed to stay upright and avoid serious injuries.

So, if you feel like owning this one-of-a-kind MotoGP memorabilia and have the dough to afford this, head over to eBay and bid on the original Valentino Rossi Dainese #thisforSIC58 leathers.
