In the past, Valentino also tested several Ferrari Formula One cars and he even competed in a WRC Grand Prix, driving one of Subaru's vehicles. However, this doesn't mean that Rossi is considering a move to Formula One, Domenicali explained, because the multiple world champion already announced that he'd continue to race in MotoGP's next seasons.
"We have a great relationship with Valentino and we'll definitely give him the chance to be part of our group again. But I think he has already decided the path for his future," according to Reuters quoting Sky TV.
The latest Formula 1 car tested by Valentino Rossi is the F2006 model which showed once again that The Doctor would be an excellent signing for most F1 teams. In fact, even the F1 star Michael Schumacher praised Rossi, adding that he could always move to Formula 1 without the need for a break-in period. What's interesting is that Rossi recorded the ninth fastest lap, one second behind Schumacher but above experienced drivers such as Coulthard or Trulli.
Unfortunately for Formula 1 fans who hoped to see Valentino in this championship, The Doctor signed a two-year contract with Yamaha in 2007, but is likely to remain in MotoGP even if the contract expires.
As you probably know, Valentino Rossi is already the champion of the 2008 championship albeit there are two races left in the season. The Doctor gained a total of 332 points in this season, with 8 first places, 2 pole-positions and 16 races out of 18.
