A couple of days ago we were reporting that Valentino Rossi is making progress after his last enduro crash in August. Now, an official announcement confirmed that the Italian rider will take part of the race this weekend at Aragon, Spain.
On August 31st, the nine-time World Champion suffered an enduro crash near his hometown. He was taken to the Ospedale Civile di Urbino for a check-up where medics discovered he broke both his tibia and fibula in the right leg.

He immediately went into surgery, which was performed by Doctor Raffaele Pescarella, Director of the Orthopedics and Traumatology division. It took him about an hour to put the bones back and fix them using metal pins.

Everything went smooth and without any complications as Rossi decided to get back in the saddle this week and see how he performs in preparations for the big race this weekend. Keep in mind that this was only 19 days after the surgery, with Valentino showing great determination.

Unfortunately, this week’s test was cut short by the rain and the Doctor couldn’t finish his condition assessment, following to perform other tests by the end of the week.

Two days later and here we are with great news from Movistar Yamaha with the team officially declaring Rossi fit to ride at the Gran Premio Movistar de Aragon in Spain.

Rossi is currently in fourth place on the championship ladder with 157 points, 26 points away from teammate Maverick Vinales who is in third. In second spot we have Andrea Dovizioso with 199 points, the same as Marc Marquez who is in top. In the opposite direction, Dani Pedrosa is very close on the fifth step with 150 points, followed by Johann Zarco with a total of 110 points.

We wish him good luck and can’t wait to see what happens this Sunday.
