Following an enduro accident, Yamaha Movistar’s Valentino Rossi has been put out of action for 19 days as he was recovering a double fracture in his right leg. However, today he seemed better as he hopped onto his bike for a few laps.
The nine-time World Champion put his recovery level to the test today and completed a few laps around the Misano World Circuit Marco Simoncelli on his YZF-R1M just before the rain started.

With unfavorable weather conditions cutting short Rossi’s test session, the evaluation of his physical condition was inconclusive. He will decide by the end of Wednesday, September 20th, whether he will hop on the bike and be part of this weekend’s race, the Gran Premio Movistar de Aragon.

Rossi is currently in fourth place on the ladder with 157 points, 26 points away from teammate Maverick Vinales who is in third. In second spot we have Andrea Dovizioso with 199 points, the same as Marc Marquez who is in top. In the opposite direction, Dani Pedrosa is very close on the fifth spot with 150 points, followed by Johann Zarco with a total of 110 points.

For those who missed the previous news, Valentino Rossi suffered an off-road bike crash on August 31st near his hometown. He was rushed to the Ospedale Civile di Urbino for a check-up, and it has been revealed he broke the tibia and fibula in his right leg.

A one-hour surgery performed by Doctor Raffaele Pescarella, Director of the Orthopedics and Traumatology Division, fixed the fractures using a metal pin, and it ended without any complications. When he woke up, Rossi said he was already feeling better and was eager to get back on the bike.

However, being able to get in the saddle knee-down on the track after only 19 days since the surgery makes us think Rossi is some kind of a superhuman. Or at least he benefits from some amazing experimental nanobot medical technology.
