9-time World Champion Valentino Rossi told Corriere dello Sport that he is indeed considering a potential retirement from MotoGP in 2014.
While The Doctor is simply eyeing a potential retirement, in case the first half of the 2014 season will not show better results than what he and Yamaha had this year.
Recently, Rossi made a major change in his team, deciding to no longer employ Jeremy Burgess as his crew chief. At that moment Rossi declared that he was making the move because he was looking for a new way in MotoGP racing, and new motivation.
The lesser goal for 2014 is to be much closer to the top three riders, with prospects of winning more races and thus finding better reasons for another two years in the premiere class.
In case Rossi makes it to the end of 2016, which himself said it will most likely be the end of his career as a rider, and claws a win, he might become the oldest MotoGP rider to win a race. So fat Troy Bayliss is the record holder, being over 37 at the time he last won a race.
