When it comes to drag racing BMWs, we’ve seen our fair share of unbelievable attempts in the past. We’ve seen things that appeared to be impossible at first and yet, happened anyway. That’s basically the charm of drag racing, especially when driving manual cars.
It’s mostly because, no matter what the specs on the paper say, you could win a race if you know how to handle yours while your opponent doesn’t. It’s that simple.

What we have below is a drag race between two cars that are basically completely different. On the one hand we have a BMW E63 M6, a legendary car with a legendary engine.

Under its bonnet hides a BMW S85 5-liter V10 engine developed with Formula 1 technology from back in the day when the Bavarians were still involved in that motorsport. It makes 507 HP and 520 Nm (384 lb-ft) of torque and a sound that is absolutely maddening.

With it, the M6 would be capable of a sprint to 100 km/h (62 mph) in just 4.4 seconds when fitted with the SMG III Gearbox and 0.2 seconds slower with the 6-speed manual. That was blazing fast for 2005!

On the other hand, the M6 is not a proper sports car and it never was conceived as such. It’s more of a GT car and that’s what it's basically holding it back in this drag race. That’s because it’s going up against a proper sports car, the Lamborghini Gallardo LP560-4.

As the name says, the Italian has 560 HP coming in from a naturally aspirated 5.2-liter V10 in the back. It also has more torque than the BMW, at 540 Nm (398 lb-ft) and all-wheel drive as all Lambos.

It’s connected to a semi-automatic gearbox as the E-Gear nomenclature in the title suggests. From a standstill, this thing would do 100 km/h (62 mph) in 3.7 seconds. Yeah... And it’s lighter than the BMW.

So what could possibly be the outcome of the race? No surprises here, unfortunately, as the BMW loses, quite badly. We’ve seen other ‘miracles’ on this Youtube channel but this time, no such thing happened.
