The recently launched BMW F15 X5 will be offered in different models around the world, the biggest difference being noticeable between the European and American markets.
Whilst the European model will start out with 3 engine variants, out of which 2 are diesels, the American counterpart will be receiving only 2 petrol engines at first, to be joined by a diesel in early 2014.

The US market will also benefit from a more powerful rear-wheel-drive model, the sDrive35i that will be powered by the N55 3-liter petrol turbocharged engine with its 300 HP and 400 Nm (300 lb-ft) of torque.

The other two engines will be the ones on the xDrive50i model, the N63 4.4-liter V8 with 450 HP and 650 Nm (480 lb-ft) of torque, and the one on the xDrive35d model with 258 HP and 413 lb-ft (560 Nm) of torque.

All of the new models will roll out with the ZF 8-speed automatic gearbox as standard, a manual one being unavailable for the moment. Expect the petrol versions to be delivered towards the end of the year, whilst the diesel should arrive in the first quarter of 2014.
