Truck sales have seen a considerable spike on the chart among the total vehicles sold, with nearly 133,000 units delivered to US customers between January and June 2013. This translates into an 18.3 percent sale increase from the same period of last year.

“The auto industry led the economic recovery through the first half of 2013, kicking off a strong summer selling season, which we expect will carry into the second half of the year,” says Bill Fay, group vice president and general manager for Toyota Division.

The Toyota Tacoma registered a 21 percent sale increase compared to a year ago, while the bigger Tundra sales went up 14.3 percent.
