U.S.-Spec Audi A6 allroad Detailed, Confirmed for 2020 Launch

About half a year after the introduction of the new A6 allroad in Europe, the model will make its way across the pond and onto American roads. It will do packing a different engine with different power levels, but the same “combination of powerful design, extraordinary versatility and high comfort,” the Germans promise.

Whereas in Europe the carmaker went, at least for now, with an only-diesel lineup of A6s, the American-spec variant will use a gasoline unit linked to a mild-hybrid system and a seven-speed S tronic dual-clutch automatic transmission. In this case, we’re talking about a turbocharged 3.0-liter V6 TFSI engine that cranks out a total of 335 horsepower and 369 lb-ft of torque, the highest levels of the current lineup.

The allroad uses all the regular Audi goodies that have made this type of wagons a hit ever since they were first introduced, back in 2000. That means customers will get the power of the quattro drive, the comfort of the tuned adaptive air suspension and the safety of the dynamic all-wheel steering.

At launch sometime next year, the car will be offered in a special Anniversary Edition that comes with exclusive Gavial Green paint job, a tribute to the original A6 allroad model that debuted two decades ago, and touches of special materials such as leather or metal at the interior.

Special appointments are aplenty, including a Bang & Olufsen 3D sound system, LED interior lighting, and an extensive range of driver assistance systems.

The A6 allroad is one of two new Audis to make a return to the American market next year. It will be followed by the high-performance RS 6 Avant.

Audi did not say when the car will actually become available, and for now it said nothing about pricing. Full details, or the ones released so far, can be found in the document attached below.
