You may remember that Fiat-Chrysler announced recently that 86 dealers in the United States and Canada will commercialize the Alfa Romeo 4C. As it happens, fans of the brand from around these places are going nuts over the Italian sports car, with most alotted units already spoken for according to dealers.
Even though its similarly priced as the 2014 Chevrolet Corvette Stingray but offers half the horsepower from a peppy 1.75-liter turbocharged four-pot, demand for the Alfa Romeo 4C is through the roof if we're to believe what certain dealers have reported. Five of them said that a high number of customers deposited big stacks of green-colored bills as far as two years ago in order to be among the first U.S. owners of the 4C.
In case you want to buy one, be warned: only 1,000 to 1,200 units of the Alfa Romeo 4C will be imported to North America in 2014 and most of them, like we've previously mentioned, are already on their way to their owners. Due to the fact that the Italian marque hasn't sold anything on American soil through official channels since 1995, demand for the pricey mid-engined 4C is higher than Alfa Romeo expected. If this trend carries on through 2015, the automaker will award new franchises to dealers located in the U.S. and Canada. “It’s all based on performance. They’re judged based on sales performance, customer advocacy and service advocacy,” declared Peter Grady, head of network development for Fiat-Chrysler Automobiles.
If it all goes to plan, Alfa Romeo will have circa 300 dealerships in this part of the world five years from now on. We remind you that at the FCA Investors Day, Alfa Romeo's presentation hinted that the manufacturer will launch eight new models through 2018, including the 4C Spider which is set to be officially unveiled by 2015.
